Holley Nethercote Commerical & Financial Services lawyers
Holley Nethercote commercial & financial services lawyers were established in 1995 on a “preventative law” philosophy with a strong focus on compliance and keeping clients out of court.
Grant Holley, a partner of the firm, spent nine years at the Victorian Bar as a barrister and was regularly briefed by Tim Nethercote, retired partner of the firm, who was a solicitor at the time.
To this day, Holley Nethercote has provided legal support to financial services providers and acts for medium to large non-financial services companies.
Along with establishing the law firm, Grant and Tim also established an associated training business, Compact compliance & training. This training business offers experiential-style training as well as tailored training courses for specific organisations.
Holley Nethercote has been involved with assisting a number of clients in full-scale ASIC investigations, helping dozens of financial institutions obtain their Australian Financial Services and Australian Credit Licences, act as (and alongside) Independent Experts in a number of ASIC-mandated enforceable undertakings, assisting large companies with mergers and acquisitions and preparing legal documentation and representing clients in court.
Holley Nethercote has a highly developed team of experienced commercial and financial services lawyers with industry-wide and practical experience. Holley Nethercote offers a clerkship program for second, third, fourth or final year law students who are looking to get a sense of what it is like working in the legal profession and to join the team.
